Impact

Building a sustainable model.

Our goal extends far beyond supporting a small group of learners. We are creating a sustainable educational ecosystem by:

SFL learners at a hands-on session

Our Journey

In January 2025, SFL launched its first programme in partnership with the University of Pretoria and five primary schools in Mamelodi.

Today, learners attend all sessions in buildings on the University of Pretoria's Mamelodi Campus, where they benefit from university facilities, modern learning resources, and an inspiring educational environment.

Our programme has grown continuously and now includes 44 children across two year groups. As they gain experience, the learners work on increasingly challenging projects in robotics, programming, engineering, and innovation.

The long-term objective is to expand the programme every six months, creating opportunities for an increasing number of talented learners from township schools while simultaneously building sustainable support structures within the schools themselves.

Building a Sustainable Model

Our goal extends far beyond supporting a small group of learners. We are creating a sustainable educational ecosystem by:

Training teachers in robotics and coding
Expanding our learner programmes every six months
Developing future mentors and role models within the communities
Building strong partnerships with the University of Pretoria

This approach ensures that many learners can benefit from technological education and talent development in the years ahead.

Why This Matters

South Africa's future depends on developing the skills and talents of its young people.

By investing in gifted learners today, we help create:

  • Future scientists and engineers
  • Technology innovators and entrepreneurs
  • Skilled professionals for a growing economy
  • Community leaders who inspire others
  • Sustainable social and economic development

Without access to programmes like SFL, many talented children may never discover their full potential.

Help shape a future leader today.

Every contribution funds equipment, materials and programme delivery for South Africa's most promising young minds.
